LetsPour Review and Unboxing Video
It happens all the time. There’s a beer that you want to try that you can’t find locally. Maybe you’re not ready for beer trading yet. Or, maybe you don’t want to wait for the perfect trade to line up. One of the first places you should look to find that special bottle is LetsPour.com. LetsPour is a flash sales site for craft beer and wine enthusiasts. Flash sales sites are websites that specialize in exclusive prices and limited stock and availability. They only have a few dozen varieties of beer available at a time on the website. The quantities vary from 100 – 200 bottles or so. Most of these beers are very highly rated, many in the upper 90s on Beer Advocate or Rate Beer. They also sell wine; but we don’t know anything about that.
For our LetsPour review, we ordered six bottles. Six bottles is the magic number at LetsPour, because six bottles equals free shipping. We purchased:
- Pelican Kiwanda Cream Ale
- Russian River Redemption
- Russian River Damnation
- Avery Hog Heaven
- Bruery Trade Winds
- Goose Island Pere Jacques
Those six beers were being sold for a total of $59. LetsPour has a unique feature, a “wheel of discounts” that you can spin to get additional money off. I received a coupon for a $10 discount, which brought my cost down to $49, with free shipping. The package was sent via UPS with a tracking code, so it was easy to watch my beer travel across the country and to my doorstep. Someone over 21 has to be present to sign for the shipment, so make sure that you take a sick day to cover your delivery.
As you can see in the video and the photographs, the bottles were packaged very well. I’ll be saving this material for future beer trades (if I ever get around to it). There was virtually no chance of breakage with the sturdy cardboard and molded packing material.
The entire process was easy. Too easy. The daily email updates with new additions make it very tempting to make a purchase every morning. With hard-to-find beers like Cigar City and Swamp Head’s Church on a Hill or Moylan’s Brewing Hopsickle showing up (and quickly selling out) you might want to make Letspour your browser’s start page.
