Dogfish Head Raison D’extra
Dogfish Head Raison D’extra is a Belgian Strong Dark Ale that is essentially a bigger version of Raison D’etra. I believe this is the final 2007 vintage, but since the date stamp has long since been rubbed away I will never know for sure. A huge, sweet sipper clocking in at a monstrous 18% ABV. Raisins and lots of alcohol, I didn’t get much of the brown sugar which is detectable in the more common Raison D’etre. Even after 5 years of age the alcohol is upfront and potent, and I didn’t detect any oxidation. This was really enjoyable but I will STRONGLY suggest sharing this with a friend if you are able to track down a bottle.
