Yazoo Sue is an American Porter that uses barley malts smoked with cherry wood. Big and malty with a nice silky smooth mouth-feel. The cherry wood smoke adds a nice subtle smokiness to the beer. Notes of chocolate, roasted coffee, and cherries. The finish is slightly dry with a bit of hops and some more lingering smoke. This is an interesting mix that at first I wan’t into all that much, but as it warms up all of the flavors come together very well. Yazoo Sue is a great example of why you can’t judge a beer by one sip.
