Jolly Pumpkin Madrugada Obscura (Dark Dawn Stout)

Jolly Pumpkin Madrugada Obscura is a sour Belgian style stout aged in oak. This is Batch 995 and has been aged 7 months. Flavors of roasted malt, funky yeast, sour vinegar, a touch of cherries and hints of oak on the finish. The mouth-feel seems a bit thin for a stout, and somehow with all those interesting flavors this beer seems not very complex at all. The mix of a stout and sour probably isn’t for everyone, but I rather like it.
