The Bruery Trade Winds
The Bruery Trade Winds usesĀ a mix of Belgian and Southeast Asian ingredients to make this non-traditional Tripel. Rice replaces the candi sugar and it is spiced with Thai Basil. The result is a lighter feeling Tripel than you might normally expect. I’m getting flavors of clementine oranges, Belgian yeast, a little “wheat like” flavor, along with a little of the basil on the finish. I must say I enjoyed this quite a bit. This is a good example of why I continue to try new beers even if they aren’t my favorite style, you never know when you will surprised by a great beer.
