Weyerbacher Seventeen

Weyerbacher Seventeen is a Saison/Farmhouse Ale created to celebrate their 17th anniversary, it is brewed with pink peppercorns, orange peel, lemon peel, and grapefruit peel. This is a very interesting beer, it feels kind of “heavy” for a Saison, a touch syrupy with a really big 10.5% ABV. All the citrus peel hits you at first, very fruity. The Belgian yeast comes in next with a lot of the peppercorns attaching to the finish. I have really enjoyed the Weyerbacher anniversary beers, and this one is no exception, but I don’t think this is the kind of thing I would keep on hand if it were available year round.
