Mikkeller Centennial Single Hop IPA
Mikkeller Centennial Single Hop IPA is one in a long line of single hop showcase IPA’s. This one is brewed with only, you guessed it, centennial hops! Sure did get a lot of floaties in this pour, I’ll try not to look at it. I rather like IPA’s that feature centennial hops and this one is no different. Lots of lemon and orange citrus is mixing with some sweet and doughy malt. A bit of pepper and bitterness on the finish. You aren’t going to find a lot of complexity in these single hop beers, but it is interesting to experience the different hop flavors and aromas on their own. On the down side it is hard to tell how fresh these are without bottle dates, and they are a bit on the expensive side at just over $5 each (11.2 oz. bottle) at our local shop.
The beer might not be green, but at least the label is! Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
