Unibroue Quelque Chose
Unibroue Quelque Chose is a Fruit Beer. One of the more interesting beers I’ve had, this is 50% Dark Ale and 50% Brown ale brewed with cherries. This beer comes in at 8% ABV and it’s best by date is 12/31/2025. On the bottle they suggest you serve this on the rocks in the summer, and hot in the winter. Wha? That is a first for any beer I’ve ever had. We severed it like any other beer, in a snifter right form the fridge. The nose is of cherries and is a bit medicinal, kind of like a Luden’s cherry cough drop. Right off the bat is a good bit of cinnamon and cherry in the taste, the low carbonation (by design) is adding a bit of a syrupy mouth-feel. Some generic spices come in on the finish. I can see why this might be good hot, when it warms it drinks more like a spiced mull wine than a beer. According to the website this beer is no longer made, and as odd as it was I will have to seriously consider picking up another bottle or two if I ever see it again.
