Dogfish Head Kvasir
Dogfish Head Kvasir is a Herbed/Spiced Beer. Another Ancient Ale, this time an attempt to recreate a Nordic Grog. From the DFH website: The recipe for Kvasir was developed with the help of chemical, botanical and pollen evidence taken from a 3,500‐year‐old Danish drinking vessel. The ingredients used include wheat, lingonberries, cranberries, myrica gale, yarrow, honey and birch syrup. First time I had this was on draft at Your Pie here in Savannah, enjoyed it from a bottle as well a couple of weeks later. Mmm, sweet and fruity, I’m really enjoying this one. The cranberries are upfront along with a lot of grape/wine like character. This wasn’t too far from what I expect from this series, but that doesn’t stop it from being very good!
