Birth of a Brewery Part 4: Service Brewing
Opening your own brewery can be a long and crazy trip. Sometimes that trip is a lot longer and crazier than you ever could have imagined.
In the Birth of a Brewery video series, we’ve been following Kevin Ryan on his mission to build a new brewery in Savannah, GA. His original space was to be branded as R&D Brewing. That initial vision of a small, artisanal research facility for creating experimental beers has evolved into building a full-scale production brewhouse under the Service Brewing mark. Along with a new name comes a new mandate and the potential to make a much bigger impact on the craft beer landscape.
You can get a good feel for the new space in this latest video. The former Coastal Paper Company building in downtown Savannah is nestled close to the Talmadge Bridge’s arc to South Carolina and surrounded by classroom space utilized by the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). It’s the perfect spot for something big to happen.
Below you can see the architect’s rendering for the new building facade. Quite an upgrade.
