Anderson Valley The Kimmie, The Yink & The Holy Gose
I had been starting to hear a buzz about Anderson Valley The Kimmie, The Yink & The Holy Gose a few weeks ago. (Granted that was mostly from distributor reps here in Savannah) So I got excited to see it on tap recently at Thirsty Monk in Asheville. I didn’t know quite what to expect, but I am happy to see more of this fantastic style out there to try.
This one is extremely salt forward to me, but in a very good way. This is followed by a flavor I can only describe as a sweet tart candy. Far from a complex beer, but this is light, refreshing and oh so drinkable. So much so I went back the next day for a few more pours during the heat of the day. It’s different from Westbrook Gose, not nearly as extreme in the sourness, but in my opinion it is just as good!
I rushed out to my local bottle shop the day after we got back eager to find more of this and was pleased to see cans for sale. I will say that I felt it was a bit better on draft, but still pretty amazing either way.
