Conquest Sacred Heart IPA
I picked up a bottle of Conquest Sacred Heart IPA at Green’s in Columbia when passing through. The price was good and I’m always excited to try yet another in the growing number of South Carolina craft beers.
The nose on this IPA is pretty interesting, I’m getting a whole lot of yeast and mangos. The yeast was unexpected but enjoyable. The taste is of slightly bready malts and some sweet (but non-distinct) tropical fruits. Very little to no pine and a very mild bitterness. I got this relatively fresh, bottle date was 4/14 and I drank about 2 months later.
This IPA was solid and very enjoyable, but maybe a bit tame. I’d say this is a very high quality IPA for new craft drinkers, a great starting point to learning about the style.
