Monday Night Brewing Bed Head Coffee Imperial IPA

I’ve been pretty impressed with my few coffee IPA experiences, so I was excited to see Monday Night Brewing Bed Head Coffee Imperial IPA show up here in Savannah.

Getting the coffee on the nose right away, doesn’t smell very IPA like though. This beer has a ton of sweet caramel malt, which to me is a good thing. The coffee is ever present but more of a mild roasted morning blend rather than espresso. There are a couple of flavors that I’m getting that are a bit out of place, but oddly not unpleasant. The first is black pepper spice. The hops also have a very vegetal taste to them, kinda like jalapenos without the heat.

This is maybe not for everyone, but I really enjoyed this one overall.
