Victory Moving Parts Batch No. 01
Victory Moving Parts is an American IPA with a rather fun concept. The full name of this is Moving Parts: The Ever Changing IPA, and the idea is to start with a basic IPA and then tweek the recipe from batch to batch slightly. This review is for batch one which uses whole-flower US, UK and German hops. The malt bill is all German.
The result is a somewhat spicy and piney IPA. There is a huge amount of bitterness as well, and personally I like to see a little more sweet malt balance in an IPA. In all honesty it tastes a lot like several other Victory IPA’s and Pale Ales. So if you are a fan of what they do (like I am) you should really enjoy this IPA as well!
I feel like this could be a fun series in the long run, it all really hinges on trying this beer though. Although I’m sure future batches will be enjoyable on their own, it will be important to know where it all started.
