The Bruery Black Tuesday
The Bruery Black Tuesday is an American Double/Imperial Stout aged in bourbon barrels for over a year. The ABV alters slightly from year to year, this is the 2013 vintage which comes in at 18.9%. No that isn’t a typo, make sure you find a group to share this with. I can’t stop thanking Raymond for doing just that, been wanting to taste this for a long time.
The smell of this… I literally keep finding my self bringing the glass to my nose and smelling it without even taking a sip. I smell big sweet chocolate, some dark fruits and cherries, alcohol and bourbon, vanilla and caramel… just so good. The taste is amazingly rich and decadent, really more Belgian Quad than stout in my opinion. I’m tasting so much raisin and dark fruits and tons of bourbon. Then there’s this crazy delicious candi sweetness that somehow powers through all those bold flavors on the finish.
I am blown away, simply blown away. This is quite possibly the single best beer I have ever had. Thanks again Raymond!
