Burnt Hickory Lake Of Fire

Burnt Hickory Lake Of Fire is the BHB Meat Puppets tribute beer. Officially this is a Imperial Red Rye Ale, but at 12.5% ABV this drinks like some kind of American Barleywine/Red Ale Hybrid to me, so I’m going with that!

The beer starts with a lot of big toffee sweetness before a nice complex array of flavors. Getting some spicy rye, vanilla, some dry oak, earthy hop notes, a touch of citrus.

There was way more going on here than expected, I hope they brew (and bottle) this again! Big thanks to Paul and the crew at Your Pie for making sure we got to try this during Savannah Craft Beer Week.
