Stone Unapologetic IPA
This is what an IPA should look like, golden yellow with a slight golden/caramel color; nice off white fluffy head. Fantastic aroma as well, notes of caramel, citrus, pine and a little honey. Slick and slightly oily mouth-feel. There is a great balance to this beer, again classic DIPA. The taste starts sweet with some caramel and mangoes, before becoming all about the hops. A very dry and “tingly” finish with lots of grapefruit, pine, a bit of pepper and a not so hidden 8.8% ABV.
Not a perfect DIPA for me, but this was more than worth the price, an excellent beer. I can’t think of a better representation of what a DIPA is really supposed to taste like, even if my personal tastes differ slightly from it.
