Three Taverns / Wrecking Bar Tripel Reserve
Got a chance to try this collaboration with Wrecking Bar at The Savannah Distillery Ale House. (Must have been left over from the Three Taverns tap takeover the week before that I couldn’t make it to) Tripel Reserve is aged on red wine barrel chips.
I might not be the biggest tripel fan in the world but I’m digging this one. The nose and taste are about the same. A good bit of banana and booze, with a ton of flavor coming from the yeast itself. I have to be honest though, If I didn’t read that this was aged on red wine chips, I’d have never guessed that it was.
Take it from me, a total non-authority on the style, this is pretty damn good!
