Alpine Pure Hoppiness

Alpine Pure Hoppiness is an American Double/Imperial IPA.

This is a hop-head dream beer, world class on so many levels. A perfect golden yellow color with a big fluffy head and great lacing. The aroma is dank with resinous pine, maybe a bit too much for me as I getting some of that green onion thing in my nose. The taste is quite pleasant, a near perfect combo of citrus and pine. Along with the pine I’m getting orange, grapefruit, lemon and slight hints of mango and green onion. The malt is a background canvas, slightly bready and sweet. Much like Nelson, Pure Hoppiness never feels unbalanced even though it is a big ol’ hop bomb.

If you’re a hop-head you probably know to get a hold of as much Alpine as you can. If you are new to the style, however, they do seem to make them very approachable as well.
