Cisco Cranberry Woods
Cisco Cranberry Woods is a Cranberry Sour Ale aged in oak barrels. This is the 2013 vintage opened in November of 2014.
The color of this is a surprisingly amber with some reddish highlights, I think I was expecting something a bit more pink given the cranberries. The head on the was about two inches but was gone before I could get the camera on. The aroma on this is good, but not great. (I’m not even sure what it is that I don’t care for, but there is something just a little off for me) The taste is a big improvement. Excellent sour ale base, with a little bit of dry oak from the barrel. This is all complimented by some additional tartness from the cranberries.
Overall this was an enjoyable beer. Sweet enough to be drinkable, but sour enough to give you a sour ale experience.
