Great Divide Hibernation Ale
Great Divide Hibernation Ale is an English Style Old Ale.
The look of this is a slightly copper red/brown color. I’m getting toasted malts, toffee and some dark molasses on the nose. Big nutty malt profile on the palate, hints of toffee and chestnuts, some chocolate and a splash of medium roast coffee. Alcohol taste is playing a roll in this as well, in fact it feels even bigger than the 8.7% ABV it is. A slow sipper that could benefit from a few months of aging, but it drinks very good fresh as well.
I’ve been seeing online that there is a barrel aged version of this. That sounds like it would be pretty damn amazing, I hope some of that makes it down here to Savannah!
