Three Heads Moho
Three Heads Moho is a Smoked Porter that is named after a local Rochester band Moho Collective.
The beer itself pours a very dark brown color, similar to a cola minus all the bubbles in appearance. The aroma is solid, getting some very mild smoke and a malt/nut thing that is almost more Brown Ale than Porter. First off, the smoke on this is very mild, and that is just fine. It might have been stronger when it was first bottled, but the current mildness compliments the Porter and allows it to really shine. Roasted malts, sweet cream and some chocolate dominate the taste. Slightly dry finish with the mild smoke, some dry bakers chocolate and hints of coffee.
I went into this beer with zero expectations, just a random bottle that I’ve been seeing at the store and I finally decided to try. I’ve been missing out, this is an impressive beer, one I’ll be picking up again for everyday drinking for sure.
