Allagash Farm To Face
Allagash Farm To Face is an American Wild Ale, bottled 8/22/14 opened 2/7/15. From the Allagash website: …brewed as a pale ale and fermented in stainless with our house yeast. After primary fermentation, pediococcus and lactobacillus were added along with 3lbs of peaches per gallon.
This pours with a surprising clear golden color, honestly it looks like a typical adjunct lager. The similarities end right there though. The aroma has a definite sour element with specific notes of peaches, green apples, and yeasty bread. The taste is bright and tart with the right amount sweet peach. Not too sweet or cloying, which is something I detest in your typical peach fruit beer. This mixes with more tart fruit flavors of apples and lemons. A bit of a sweet bready finish, graham crackers maybe?
This is a an outstanding sour ale on every level. Simply fantastic, I can’t find a single flaw with this one.
