Crooked Stave Vieille

Crooked Stave Vieille is a Saison/Farmhouse Ale. This is an Artisanal Saison aged in oak barrels, 2014 vintage/Batch 13, 4.2% ABV.

This pours with a pretty cloudy lemon yellow color. The aroma is rather tame, mildly tart with a bit of lemon funkiness. The taste starts sweet and fruity with notes of sweet apples and tart lemons. Pure SweeTart candy flavor is complimented by a mild amount of oak barrel woodiness, creating a almost white wine like thing going on. The finish is a little musty with that classic barnyard funkiness you should get in a traditional saison.
