Episode 65: Shekles on Shekles
It’s mini episode time! Lee went to Israel and brought back a few bottles to share. The guys drink through four, talk about the preconceptions and realities of Israeli beer and only manage to be offensive to a couple of cultures and nationalities. L’chaim!
Beers reviewed: Negev Passaflora, Shapiro Jack’s Winter Ale, Dancing Camel Midnight Stout and Herzl Embargo.
Embargo, a Cuban tobacco-infused porter, was the big winner in a field of very competent, solid beers. Ruby hues with nice lacing and an earthy/organic aroma give way to a complex, delicate, delicious and unique brew. The flavor is dirty but sweet and gives way to a dry, light, leafy finish.
