Sixpoint Hi-Res

Sixpoint Hi-Res is an American Double/Imperial IPA. 10.5% ABV Best by date of 7/10/2015, opened on 3/13/2015.

Very nice looking beer here, deep rich golden caramel color with a fantastic bone white head. A little bit dank and citrusy on the nose, but not a huge resinous hop bomb like you might expect form the name. Really digging the flavor of this. Tons of sweet malt with big luscious tropical fruit notes. Lots of mango and pineapple, hints of an orange cognac like alcohol burn. A solid bitterness holds strong into the aftertaste. Rather sweet and a little thick and chewy for a DIPA, and that high ABV is in no way hidden. The great taste of this beer more than helps it overcome it’s minor flaws though.

Huge thanks to Matt for this one, it is definitely on my radar to pick up again whenever I see it again.
