Rogue Sriracha Hot Stout
Rogue Sriracha Hot Stout is a Chili Beer/Stout brewed with Huy Fong Original Hot Chili Sauce and sun ripened Rogue Farms ingredients. 5.7% ABV.
I rarely spend a whole lot of time on the label art of a beer, but they did such a good job with this one it deserves tremendous praise. It is a perfect tribute to the famous bright red “Sriracha Rooster Sauce” bottle, cleverly altered to be about the beer. They even nailed the bright green cap. The look of the beer is fine, super dark brown with a nice tan head. The aroma of this beer is perfect Sriracha. It has that distinct garlic and spice blend that you get from Sriracha. Really amazing. The taste is more generic spiciness than specifically Sriracha, but it is a pleasantly subtle chili flavor. Not much in the way of “burn”, but it does get a bit hotter as it warmed up. A stout that is on the thin side, but I think that it works better that way. Thick and spicy might have been a bit too much.
I was a little concerned about tackling this by myself so I shared this one with the wife. As it turns out this was a well conceived beer that was very drinkable.
