Highland Brewing Black Mocha Stout

Highland Brewing Black Mocha Stout is an American Stout, 5% ABV.

The beer pours with a nice extreme dark brown, almost black color, pretty tan head. There are some bits of “beer food” floating in my beer as well, but it’s not too much. The aroma is classic for an American Stout, roasted malts dominate on the nose along with a hint of dark chocolate. As for the taste, the name says it all. Perfect roasted malts with a hint of smokiness, dark chocolate, and just a hint of coffee. A good bit of bitter hops on the finish too. This beer does not drink like it is only 5% ABV, it’s full flavored with a sturdy mouth-feel.

A damn fine year round offering, without a doubt this is one of my favorite beers from Highland!
