Review: Icebug Mist RB9X Running Shoe
Icebug’s Mist running shoe has been a revelation.
I didn’t know I needed a shoe that refused to hold water until I tried out a pair of Mists on a soggy, humid spring morning. The ventilated upper allows for your foot to breathe and receive consistent airflow. The super-grippy sole attacked wet pavement just as solidly as dry, rocky ground. If you step in a puddle, your feet dry off amazingly fast and the shoes never get heavy.
I could see these coming in handy with trail runs, obstacle course races or just a standard rainy day neighborhood sprint.
The Icebug Mist is true to size with a roomy toe box and swaddling heel. I found them to be more functional and comfortable when worn without socks and a tight lacing through the middle. As a neutral runner, the padding and support is just right for my needs. They don’t veer into minimalist territory while still being lightweight and efficient.
But the Mist is more than about performance. It’s also stylish shoe and I’ve found myself wearing them around town with shorts and jeans far more than my traditional running shoes.
The bottom line: The Icebug Mist is a fantastic all-terrain shoe when you need to shed water fast or have increased ventilation. Bonus points for the unique look.
