Upland Brewing Wheat Ale
Upland Brewing Wheat Ale is a Witbier brewed with organic coriander, chamomile, and orange peel.
This pours with a very light and clear golden color with a nice white head. I have to say I was a bit surprised by the strong aroma given the “light lager” like appearance. There are strong notes of banana, and what seems like cinnamon? The taste follows suit very well. Lots of banana, and a good bit of what tastes like cinnamon to me. Maybe that is the chamomile coming through? A bit of yeast and the slightest hint of lemon rounds out the flavor. The mouth-feel was a huge surprise on this one. It is full and almost creamy with a light buzz of carbonation on the finish.
I’m really trying to give Wheat Ales a fair chance, and I like this one quite a bit. Too bad it isn’t available where I am.
