Bosteels Tripel Karmeliet
Bosteels Tripel Karmeliet is a Belgian Tripel. I ordered this on draft here is Savannah at The Bier Haus.
A nice looking beer, it pours with a clear golden-yellow color, nice white head on top. Wow, this is maybe the best smelling Tripel I have ever had! A fantastic light fruity aroma of apple, pear and banana keeps me coming back for more whiffs. The yeast has the same fruity profile that is a huge component of the taste. It isn’t as intense as in the aroma, but I’m tasting the apple and banana. Add to that a backbone of bready malts and a generic sugary sweetness. Mild notes of clove, hay, peppery spice and hints of lemon are detected as well. This is so easy to drink with no pronounced alcohol bite, my glass was gone in no time.
I rarely say this about the style, but I’m loving this Tripel!
