2015 Runners Gift Guide
Runners generally don’t need much gear, a good pair of shoes some good socks and many runners are happy. A nice pair of shorts and a Brew/Drink/Run tech shirt and most will be set. There are plenty of gifts out there for runners that they didn’t know they needed. Here are few ideas to take your favorite runner to the next level of running gear.
Stocking Stuffer:
Whether it’s during a long run or at the end of a run, all runners need an energy boost sometimes. Honey is a natural energy source shown to have numerous benefits. Honey Stinger energy products take advantage of honey’s natural benefits. Their products come in a variety of forms, all organic honey waffles, energy gels and energy chews. Also available are energy and protein bars. Each form comes in a variety of flavors so your runner will have plenty of different options to try.
The long distance runner:
Long distance training can mean some early morning or late evening runs. Safety can be a concern on these low visibility miles so add a Nite Ize LED running vest to your runners gear. The vest is made of safety yellow mesh and features reflectors on several surfaces. Most importantly it has a red LED strip on both the front and back of the vest to really make your runner shine. The LEDs can be set to flash or to a steady glow. The vest is around 3 oz. 9 (with battery) in weight and comes in two sizes. Each vest includes pockets and a key clip so running with personal items is never a problem.
Cool runs:
White Sierra’s Women’s Stripe Crew is a lightweight pullover perfect for cool weather runs. This crew style shirt lightweight with a slight stretch to make it comfortable on runs but is stylish enough for everyday wear. It comes in several colors and is super soft to the touch. White Sierra carries a range of affordable outdoor and active wear clothing for men, women and children. Shop White Sierra at Amazon.com.
The Big Gift:
We’ve written about Icebug shoes in the past. Icebug specializes in trail running shoes for all levels and intensities of trails. The Anima RB9X is as close to a street shoe and Icebug gets. Made for accessible, manicured trails they don’t’ include the spikes or extreme treads of most of Icebug’s other models. The Anima RB9X are water resistant one the outside and have a non-absorb interior. Padding on the tongue and the heel make them stable to run in and comfortable enough to wear around even when not running.
