Highland Brewing Saw-Wet
Highland Brewing Saw-Wet is a Saison/Farmhouse Ale, 6% ABV, filled on 1/14/16 and opened on 2/8/16. Bottle sent for review. This is going to be a new spring seasonal offering for Highland.
The beerĀ pours with a slightly hazy golden yellow color and a big fluffy white head. A nice bit of Belgian style yeast spice hits the nose first, mildly sweet bready malt is in the mix as well. Some muted citrus notes blend with a good helping of Belgian spice, and a more dry and cracker like malt flavor in the taste, not as sweet and bready as the aroma.
I’m not sure if this is the same Saison I sampled at the taproom a few years ago, but I feel just about the same way about it. It is a solid beer that is worth having every now and then.
