Rogue 8 Hop IPA
Rogue 8 Hop IPA is an American Double/Imperial IPA, bottle sent for review. Coming in at 8.88% ABV this is the biggest beer in The Rogue Hop Experience. It features Liberty, Newport, Revolution, Rebel, Independent, Freedom, Yaquina and Alluvial hops. Like 6 Hop IPA this is available in 22 oz bottles.
A darker pour that is consistent with a bigger DIPA, this beer is a deep caramel color with some intense red hues. The aroma has a rich caramel base that is mixing with all of the hops, a bit spicy with notes of tropical fruit on the nose as well. Incredible malt sweetness is balanced by a moderate hop bitterness on the taste. The collection of 8 hops is creating a fantastic combination of pine and pineapple. The finish is once again heavy on the caramel malt sweetness while the aftertaste has my mouth buzzing with hop bitterness.
I have yet to try 4 Hop, but I’m going to go out on a limb and say this is my favorite of the four. It actually might just be my new favorite Rogue beer in general!
