Ayinger Celebrator Doppelbock is 6.7% ABV, no bottle date.
A dark brown pour with rich caramel tones when held to the light, coffee tan head on top that fades after a few minutes. The aroma has a huge malt profile with notes of molasses and dark fruits that’s complimented by just a bit of hop bitterness. The beer is also malt forward, which given the style is not unexpected at all. The flavor is complex and rich with a lot of molasses, mild brown sugar, faint coffee, sweet raisin, a little chocolate, and a hint of soy sauce.
There is nothing wrong with a tasty Doppelbock every now and then… and this is an excellent choice that is available year round!
