Stone Pataskala is a Red IPA is brewed and dry hopped with Mosaic, Cascade and Amarillo hops and comes in at 7.3% ABV. Bottled 1/17/16 opened on 03/12/16.
This pours with a beautiful, rich crimson red color and a never ending light tan head. The dry hopping is immediately evident on the nose with big notes of mango and passion fruit as well as a touch of earthiness. The taste is sweet and slightly bready with a good amount of hop bitterness to balance. The hop flavors have a wide range with notes that are fruity, herbal, floral; matched by some stronger dank & resinous hop elements on the palate as well. A nicely dry finish is the perfect end to each sip.
Yes, this is a yet another hugely hopped beer from Stone, but this one (although still really hoppy) is not the typical mouth obliterating hop bomb they usually brew.
