This pours with an exceptionally dark brown color and a big tan head that fades a bit too quickly to a slight ring around the edge of the glass. The aroma is mildly roasty with a good bit of lacto tartness, maybe a hint of bitter chocolate, not as sweet as I was expecting on the nose. The taste isn’t too far out the box, but isn’t exactly typical for the style either. There is something a little different about this that I can’t quite put my finger on. Tasting some dry bakers chocolate, a little lacto sour/vanilla yogurt, and a pinch of hop bitterness as well. The mouth-feel is creamy, but not overly big.
A solid Milk Stout overall, I could see myself having a few of these if it was a beer that I could purchase in my part of the world.
