Uinta Ready Set Gose
Uinta Ready Set Gose comes in at 4% ABV. Seems logical that a brewery from Salt Lake City should brew a Gose, right? Best by date of 08/11/16, opened on 6/10/16.
This beer couldn’t look any more like a Gose; looking at a slightly hazy golden color with some lemon yellow and orange highlights, and a nice white head that is 100% gone in a minute or two. The aroma has a good bit of sweet grain, a hint of tart and coriander is on the nose as well. I was fully expecting more tartness in this but it really isn’t there, it has more of a sweet maltiness that is complimented by some solid salt and spice. There is a little bit of a citrus note which is pleasant, but isn’t adding the big tart and/or sour that many American interpretations of the Gose feature.
This beer might not have the extreme flavors many are looking for, but it actually seems to be very true to the style. Ready Set Gose reminds me a good bit of Bayerischer Bahnhof Leipziger Gose.
