Hi-Wire Brewing Bed Of Nails

Hi-Wire Brewing Bed Of Nails is an English-style Brown Ale, 6.1% ABV. I noticed some printing on the bottle, but it is hard to say if it is a bottle date. This was possibly bottled on 06/21/16? Opened on 08/15/16.

This pours with more of a deep red color than brown, a decent off white head that settles after a minute or two. I’m getting a nice bit of toffee and a little bit of nuts on the nose, nothing too crazy, but totally appropriate for the style. This is a tasty English Brown; malt forward with strong amount of roasted nuts, sweet caramel, hazelnuts, and a little bit of hop bitterness. Right on the finish is a fantastic burst of dark fruit flavor adding just a touch of complexity.

Although this beer is available year round, I see this being an excellent alternative during the steady line up of Pumpkin Ales and Oktoberfest beers this fall.
