Bell’s Porter
Bell’s Porter comes in at 5.6% ABV, bottled on 08/25/16, opened on 10/29/16, shelf life of 6 months.
The beer is an exceptionally dark brown color with some caramel and red near the edge of the glass when held to the light. A big fluffy tan head is created by the pour which settles nice and slow to a good layer on top of the beer. The aroma brings roasted malts along with some sugary cream and a hint of chocolate. Big robust roasted malt right away on the taste, with a little bit of milk chocolate coming in right behind. I am also picking up on some coffee undertones, and a mild hop bite that lingers with the roast on the finish and aftertaste. The beer feels smooth and creamy, but with a nice little sting of carbonation that really compliments the finish.
This is one solid and easy to drink Porter. Not the kind of dark beer you sip on slowly either, I am taking this glass of beer down in some pretty big gulps.
