Funky Buddha Last Snow
Funky Buddha Last Snow is an American Porter with coconut, coffee and natural flavor, 6.4% ABV. Thanks to Raymond for sharing this bottle with Lee and I.
The beer pours with a dark brown color with a nice tan head. Coconut and chocolate really dominate the aroma creating a wonderful Mounds candy bar like aroma. The coffee is much more subtle on the nose than I was expecting, it is there, but it is really hidden behind the coconut and chocolate. The aroma leads right into the taste with a huge amount of coconut and chocolate. Once again the coffee is mild, I’m tasting it more on the finish with a slightly tart/acidic note. This beer is rather sweet overall, but far from cloying. It is easy to expect a much bigger mouth-feel from a beer with this kind of taste and aroma profile. Last Snow is a touch thinner though, which in all fairness is perfectly appropriate for the style.
Assuming you are down with a lot of coconut this is an excellent dessert beer.
