This is one fine looking beer that pours with a crystal clear pale gold color. A perfectly acceptable white head fades down to a solid little ring around the top of my glass. The aroma has a sugary sweetness to it, a moderate amount of pine, and a general fruitiness I can’t quite pin down. I’m enjoying a nice flavor ride to this beer. The taste starts with some sweet caramel malt before some hop bitterness and dry grain hit my taste buds. The hops then move from bitter to flavor with notes of grapefruit, mango and oranges. A dry and slightly bitter finish has me reaching for the glass pretty quickly after each sip.
I’m enjoying Hoppy Adventure quite a bit; it has some good balance, a solid flavor profile, and is rather easy to drink for a Double IPA.
