Today’s beer is Service Brewing Bottle Conditioned Barrel-Aged Scouts Out: A Honey Saison exclusive to the brewery’s tap room. We get nerdy on bottle conditioning, the effects of aging in a French Oak barrel and what all that honey goes towards. Thanks, Keith!
Beer Advocate gives this overview of the style:
“This is a very complex style; many are very fruity in the aroma and flavor. Look for earthy yeast tones, mild to moderate tartness. Lots of spice and with a medium bitterness. They tend to be semi-dry with many only having touch of sweetness.”
