The Lost Abbey Red Poppy Ale is a Flanders Red Ale, this is a relatively fresh bottle of vintage 2012. Getting lots of funk on the nose. Things start with a rush of vinegar and an always noticeable Brett funkiness. The beer then settles into the most wonderful sweet and sour cherry flavor. The months of oak barrel aging is evident but no obvious. A nice bit of lemon towards the finish. Just stellar.
