Dogfish Head World Wide Stout
Dogfish Head World Wide Stout is an American Double/Imperial Stout. Bottled on 11/17/2009, this bottle has aged 3 months shy of of 3 years. I am sure people drink this fresh, but at 18% I can’t imagine opening my 2012 bottle yet. This has (presumably) mellowed nicely, the smell of alcohol is potent on the nose but less so in the taste. Don’t get me wrong you still know its there but it mixes with the rich malty flavors. Getting some raisin, molasses, faint roasted malt, a little soy sauce, sherry, and a dry woody finish. The alcohol burn kicks in as it warms. Wow, this is an intense drinking experience.
