North Coast Grand Cru
North Coast Grand Cru is a Belgian Strong Pale Ale. This beer is brewed with pilsner malt and agave nectar, then aged in oak bourbon barrels. There is a lot of grape and white wine like flavors going on here, and the agave seems to be adding some additional sweetness but nothing in the way of flavor. I am finding it hard to believe this is bourbon barrel aged, maybe the slightest bit of oak on the finish but almost no bourbon. I’ve read some reviews of this beer are fairly poor but I can’t see why, in my opinion this is a pretty tasty Belgian Strong Ale.
