Who Needs a Half Gallon of Beer?
Saturday afternoon the family decided to head to our local Fleet Feet store to get Nicole some new running shoes. With the number of miles I have been running and with her training for a 1/2 marathon, we usually get to fleet feet easily every 2-3 months. We grabbed some new shoes and a few sweat bands and decided to enjoy a lunch at a nearby bar and grill — McCray’s Tavern. It is a nice place with sports on multiple TV’s, a good food selection, and a “wall” of beer. They have a special plaque for guests that have drank the whole wall. I had two to put down on my drink card but I have a long way to go to get to the required amount in 6 months.
After lunch, we decided to walk around the downtown square and we found Exhibit A(le) — a very new growler store about 2 store-fronts away from Fleet Feet. So now, I have one place to go for to participate in two of BDR’s activities, and Exhibit A(le) is planning on supplying homebrewing supplies as well in the future. The owner was very nice and helpful and we were able to sample as many as we wanted before we decided on our 1/2 gallon of beer. The selection was fantastic as they had local as well as nationally popular beer on tap making my choice all that more difficult.
I think the best part will be running a 5K in downtown Lawrenceville sometime soon and then heading home with a full or “celebrated” (if someone else will drive me home) growler of great beer.
