Mikkeller Big Worse (Red Wine Barrel Edition)

Mikkeller Big Worse is an American Barleywine, this variation is aged in red wine barrels. I am going to guess this is about 1 1/2 years old. (based totally on the first posted beeradvocate review) Earthy and sweet with a large dose of figs and raisins, some molasses and some oak/red wine notes on the finish. The hops have probably mellowed considerably by now, but they are still there in the background. This was very interesting but not my favorite barleywine ever, regardless I think it was totally worth the $12 to try it!
