Avery Hog Heaven

Avery Hog Heaven is an American Barleywine. This is one of those year round barleywines with no bottle date so I can’t say for sure when this was bottled, but I am pretty sure I’ve been holding on to this for about a year. A good bit of sweet caramel malts are followed by a strong bit of bitter/spicy hops. I have to assume the hops have faded some by now, but they are still packing a punch at this point. The aftertaste is like un-sweetened lemon iced tea and comes in long after each sip. Not too bad at a year, but this would be a good candidate to cellar and forget about for a few more years.
