Victory V Twelve
Victory V Twelve is a Belgian style Quadrupel (Quad). The smell on this is classic Victory, lots of that spicy hop thing? Or maybe it’s their yeast? Anyway it has that distinct Victory “thing” on the nose. I was expecting it in spades in the taste but I was surprised by a lot of fruit sweetness instead. Apples, pears, raisins and maybe a bit of cherries as well. Yeast spice and a mild hop bite creep in on the finish. The aftertaste has a bit of raisin lingering along with a good bit of alcohol heat. I sure wish I knew the bottle date on this (the place for that on the label was blank, grrr), but I would think the booze would cool out over time. This might not be one of the great Belgian Quads, but it is a solid Quad that is available year round. I can see myself picking this up again.
